Plasma Compared to Other TVs

Plasma Television Brands

There are a huge number of brands of plasma TV manufacturers, so the choice can seem daunting when deciding between them. This list will help you to decide what brand is the best one for you and will give you pros and cons of both.

Akai Plasma TV

The Akai plasma TVs are low quality, much like that of the Vizio TVs and though they are low in price, they are not a good choice. Pick a middle ground plasma TV for a little more and you will be much happier.

Hitachi Plasma TV

Hitachi has great customer ratings for their plasma TVs and should be considered when thinking of buying one. They offer great quality at a moderate price, similar to that of Panasonic and are a viable option. Check them out and compare the two brands when buying.

JVC Plasma TV

JVC fits the bill of a good plasma, but is mainly a middle market price-to-quality choice. If you want a better price-to-quality ratio, go with a Panasonic or a Hitachi plasma TV. However, if you are looking for a plasma TV with sound, this is your buy.

LG Plasma TV

LG is one of the middle of the road plasma TVs that will be a good home theater addition, but won't wow your friends that own their own plasmas. Panasonic is by far the preferred brand for picture quality and beat out LG in a focus group test done with the brand labels off.

Maxent Plasma TV

Maxent is a low end model of plasma TVs but they are really inexpensive as well. You get what you pay for when you buy a Maxent, low quality and some false countouring keep this from being a good plasma manufacturer.

Mitsubishi Plasma TV

Mitsubishi has some of the higher quality plasma televisions, but you will pay for the added quality. If you want a high quality plasma screen TV then you should go with Pioneer's high end models, which are better and have a more proven track record.

Panasonic Plasma TV

Panasonic makes a good quality plasma TV for a medium scale price, and is historically a best buy for electronics, and this holds true in plasma TVs. Panasonic is probably the TV brand you will want to buy unless you want the best of the best in plasma TVs.

Philips Plasma TV

If you want a great quality plasma TV with some unique features for a reasonable price, then Philips is a great choice for you. You can get Ambilight with your TV that will add to the your viewing pleasure.

Pioneer Plasma TV

Pioneer is well known for their electronics and their plasma screen TVs hold true to their reputation with clear quality and good black and light ranges. People looking at a Pioneer for their plasma TV purchase will be delighted with what they receive.

Samsung Plasma TV

Samsung has some good quality plasma and plasma HDTVs and offers them at a price that is comparable to the similar models of Panasonic plasma TVs. They have a great track record for their mid-grade quality products and are a good pick.

Sharp Plasma TV

Sharp concentrates heavily on LCD panel TVs so buying a plasma TV from them, if you can find one, would not be a good idea. Buy a plasma TV from a company that focuses on the plasma TV for the best performance.

Vizio Plasma TV

Vizio makes the cheapest plasma TV, but its low price is because of the low quality of picture that you will find. If you just want a plasma TV for as cheap as possible, this is the TV for you, but don't expect really high quality resolution. It does have some higher end models that match up in quality.
